How do you take a good picture? How does a professional photographer work? And why are some photos in a museum while others aren’t? Pupils live in an image-dominated culture and constantly take photos themselves. But what makes a photo in a museum so distinctive?
This popular combination programme consists of a guided tour of the current exhibition (1 hour), followed by a workshop (1 hour) in which the key concepts of photography are discussed. Pupils work with what they have seen in the current exhibition and translate this into photographs of all kinds of objects. Composition, frame, lighting, depth of field, point of view, colour, abstraction and subject are used in experiments, to eventually result in a special photograph as an end product.
The various photos will be discussed in class at the end of this combination programme and the results can be transferred to a USB stick.
