In February Huis Marseille is organizing a masterclass with the artist duo Arja Hop & Peter Svenson. Accompanied by the artists, you will make a monochrome photogram on a negative with plant material from the garden of Huis Marseille, from which you will then produce an edition print. During the masterclass you will go through all the steps of the process of making a photogram on negative.

You’ll start by looking for useful flora in the garden, then you’ll make one composition together with the group, go into the darkroom and learn how to do the exposure on the plant material on large-format film. Finally, you’ll develop the film and print the image on PE paper.

At the end of the masterclass you will take home one edition print with the signatures of the artists, a nice collaboration between the artists and yourself!

Prior knowledge is not necessary. Everyone who is interested can participate in this masterclass.

The masterclass will be given primarily in Dutch. However, Arja and Peter both speak excellent English and will happily accommodate English speakers.
